Why does my session expire?

For security reasons, your session automatically expires five hours after you have logged in. This is to protect your account from unauthorized access.

If you do not set your computer to 'accept' the cookies (small pieces of site information) when logging into mail.com, or if your browser is not configured to 'accept' cookies, your session will expire. mail.com use cookies to assist us in authenticating our users and saving configuration information about your e-mail account. If you see this message immediately after logging in, you should check the following:
